Kocher+Beck has launched a new line of magnetic cylinders. The Cobalt Series incorporates an array of strong earth magnets to provide high holding force for challenging applications.

“This advancement in magnetic technology will allow us to expand the range in which flexible dies can be applied,” says Jim Ward, vice president of engineering and operations in the company’s facility in Atlanta. “Printers and converters can now implement flexible die technology where speeds and diameters were limited in the past.”

According to Ward, the company has implemented new machining and handling techniques that allow the company to safely install the stronger magnets and maintain all of the precision and tight tolerances that come with all K+B manufactured magnetic cylinders.
